This is something I’ve wondered as well. They do it for muscle cars, Nissan probably still have some of the tooling for it, and in some areas, a solid shell goes for thousands, plus, the aftermarket is so huge that you could build a brand new one however you wanted. It seems a no brainier really

Probably just enough left that its still cheaper to buy a complete car than a new body in white. Plus getting the licences is a pain i would imagine. Modern cars are a bit more awkward to recreate too. Most driftbros dont have the cash to build a brand new car and pro drifting is a small market for such a thing.

Last I heard the musclecar shells sell like shit and require the same amount of bumping as an older VIN’d shell to put together.

Question S65. You call yourself S65 but are seemingly posting Japanese cars all the time, explain.

I imagine they do only sell a few a year; there’s not a huge group they’re marketing to. But surely it has to be enough since they’re still in business, right? Right?

I believe Dynacorn makes their money on repro panels, but I am not really in the know. I was impressed with their metal when I used a bunch of it.

Usually when someone names oneself after a certain manufacturer code or model or something, their posts are usually skewed toward that manufacturer. I was just curious, nothing more.

Honestly, this isn't my area either. All the companies I can think of that make shells also sell individual panels, which I've heard good things about quality wise, and are probably selling well enough to prop up slow sales of complete shells. I doubt you could really do the same with an s13, since breakers and aftermarket fibreglass panels have pretty much got that market covered
